Mainframe Pre-Sales Architect
Hybrid / London
Up to £145,000

Our client, a global leader in IT infrastructure services, is looking for a Mainframe Pre-Sales Architect to join their team. This is an opportunity for a true subject matter expert to shape enterprise-level mainframe strategy, guiding customers through modernization, transformation, and the future of hybrid cloud integration.

As a Mainframe Pre-Sales Architect, you will:

  • Lead pre-sales engagements, providing deep technical expertise on mainframe modernization and enterprise architecture.
  • Shape and define mainframe strategy, aligning solutions with customer business objectives.
  • Engage with C-suite and technical stakeholders to showcase cutting-edge innovations and capabilities.
  • Develop architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate value and feasibility.
  • Act as a thought leader, staying ahead of industry trends and translating them into actionable strategies.
  • Support sales teams by providing technical input for proposals, RFP responses, and customer briefings.
  • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure seamless execution of solutions post-sale.

The ideal Mainframe Pre-Sales Architect will have:

  • Extensive expertise in mainframe architecture, modernization, and integration strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of IBM Z, DB2, IMS, CICS, RACF/ACF2, COBOL, PL/1, and advanced database performance tuning.
  • Proven experience advising on hybrid cloud integration and migration strategies for mainframe workloads.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading pre-sales engagements, working with enterprise clients to shape IT transformation.
  • Thought leadership in the mainframe space, with a strong understanding of industry trends and future direction.
  • Strong commercial awareness, understanding how to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.

The Package:

  • £125,000 - £145,000 base salary
