Machine Operator

Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading steel company in their search for a Machine Operator to work at their facility in Shrewsbury.

For the successful Machine Operator our client is offering:

• Up to £13.00 per hour DOE
• 2 week shift rotation - Week 1 & 2 - Monday to Friday, 6am – 2:30pm. Week 3 & 4 - Monday - Thursday, 12:00pm - 10:30pm
• Temporary to Permanent position
• Training and Development opportunities available
• In house licence will be provided
• Profit-related bonuses & attendance bonuses after qualifying period
• 29 days annual leave including bank holidays

The role - Machine Operator:

• Set up and operate CNC sawing equipment to cut aluminium and stainless steel to customer specifications
• Read and accurately interpret order sheets
• Read and accurately interpret technical drawings to determine cutting requirements
• Select appropriate saw blades, adjust cutting speeds, and position materials for precise cuts
• Use forklift to collect own materials to load the CNC
• Check quality of finished products.
• Monitor sawing operations to ensure accuracy, quality and adherence to safety protocols
• Perform daily maintenance checks of metal saw
• Maintain a clean and organised work area

What our client is looking for in a Machine Operator:

• Previous experience operating a computerised machine in a manufacturing setting- ESSENTIAL
• Ability to work from blueprints and drawings - ADVANTAGEOUS
• Previous experience driving a counterbalance forklift - ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience working within the steel industry would be beneficial
• Physically fit to lift heavy materials
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

The role – Injection Moulding Setter Operator:

• To ensure the Injection Moulding machines are set to the optimum conditions to produce quality components
• Optimising machine/ robot cycle times
• To execute colour, insert, printer and mould changes according to the production plan
• To perform quality and material tests (MFI) on a regular basis according to instructions.
• To implement appropriate corrective action when quality issues are reported by a Machine Operator.
• To organise cover for breaks for and in co-operation with the Machine Operators.
• To achieve low scrap rates, high productivity rates and minimal change over wastage.
• To ensure detailed and correct documentation and recording is carried out.
• To ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained on the shop floor.

• To ensure the correct loading/unloading of recycling material and new material into the correct silo.
