Job description

We are looking for trainee machine operators who are ultimately looking for a permanent role in manufacturing. This client is based in Bognor Regis and offers an excellent opportunity for local people to learn how to manage, set, and run print machines. This is a physically demanding role with warehouse duties and the use of PCs for printing job sheets and cards.


This client is looking for people who genuinely want a fresh start and new career within manufacturing. The training on the machines is around 6 weeks, so please only apply if you are looking for long-term, permanent work.


Training will be provided on machines such as:


  1. Print/Photocopiers
  2. Laminating machines
  3. Guillotine machines
  4. Bar Coding and Scanning machines
  5. Trimming machines
  6. Rewinder machines
  7. Binder machines

When machines are not in operation, all candidates will be expected to join the Pick and Pack operation. The aim of this position is quality and not speed; full attention to detail is required at all times to ensure continuous operation of the 4-step program.


Shifts patterns:


Continental shift pattern. However, the training period is on regular days: 08.30 am to 5 pm, then moving onto a 3 shifts pattern.


  1. Day shift: 6 am to 2 pm - Mon to Fri
  2. Afternoon shift: 2 pm to 10 pm - Mon to Fri
  3. Night shift: 10 pm to 6 am - Sun to Thurs

7.67 hours pay per day - 38.35 hours per week. Overtime paid after 38.35 hours at Time and a half - Not compulsory.


Good English language ability, communication skills, and being a team worker are essential. Previous machine experience is very beneficial.


Previous experience in the print industry is not essential, but candidates must be reliable, motivated, and able to work as part of a team. ALL mobile phones MUST be switched off in the production areas.
