Budget: Up to £650 per day
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join a Data & AI Partner on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact business problems and apply cutting-edge machine learning and data analysis techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy ML models to solve complex business problems.
- Conduct data analysis and statistical modelling using Python.
- Extract, transform, and model data from various sources using Python.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders and technical teams to implement solutions.
- Manage end-to-end ML model lifecycle — from development to production.
- Identify opportunities to improve process automation and performance using data-driven insights.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficient in Python for data analysis, modelling, and automation.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Databricks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience building and deploying ML models into production.
- Excellent communication skills — ability to work with senior stakeholders and present complex data insights clearly.
- Business acumen — ability to link technical solutions to business outcomes.
- Interest in AI and a passion for applying AI/ML to real-world problems.
- MSc in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience working with BI tools like Looker or Power BI.
- Business analysis experience.
- Familiarity with Python frameworks like Streamlit or Gradio.
- Background in consulting or professional services (e.g., Deloitte, Accenture).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Self-starter — able to take initiative and work independently without micromanagement.
- Adaptable and able to work across multiple clients and projects.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working towards business outcomes.
- Preferably someone with a strong technical background who has pivoted from a structured graduate program (e.g., Big 4 consultancy) to a more entrepreneurial or innovative environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to work on a greenfield project, driving automation and business efficiency through cutting-edge AI and data science solutions.
