LTG Head of Infrastructure Procurement

Job Description

This role will report directly to the Procurement Director and be a member of the procurement leadership team whilst working closely with the Long Term Growth leadership team. You will bring experience of mega (c£1bn) infrastructure project procurement to lead the team responsible for modernising Heathrow (which includes several major infrastructure projects to deliver additional capacity within the existing footprint of the airport) and expanding Heathrow, the scope of which includes plans to build a third runway and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the LTG procurement team and associated scope.
• Covering all work associated to the procurement of our expansion plans such as packaging, procurement and management of contracts.
• Managing the teams procuring the required professional services to support Heathrow in achieving permission from local and government authorities to progress scope alongside the LTG leadership team.
• Multiple procurement strategies and their implementation for projects which sit under this, varying from major infrastructure projects, professional services and design, as well as elements of technology for the capital build.
• Building the team in proportion to the scope of the programme.

Qualifications

• Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate leadership in the set up and running of significant mega programmes (essential), managing teams to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, creation of major procurement and commercial strategies, and have implemented them with a supply chain and internal stakeholders.
• Graduate calibre with a minimum of 10 years' experience in capital procurement, construction, cost management and supply chain management.
• Proven experience in procurement, commercial and or project/programme management skills at a senior level.
• Established track record in driving high value business performance through developing innovative supplier relationship strategies and partnerships at Director level.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to a senior/advanced level.
• Excellent strategic sourcing skills - proficient in all aspects of the 'Strategic Sourcing Cycle'.
• Accomplished leader with proven people and functional leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills with the 'presence' to be a role model for your team and the wider Procurement function.
• Expert in best practice benchmarking and being a role model for the performance of the function as well as the wider Procurement function.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
