Longevity & Reinsurance Pricing Actuary (Asset Focus)

The Role:

A prestigious global life reinsurer is seeking a nearly/newly qualified actuary to join their dynamic and internationally focused deal pricing team. This is a high-profile role with exposure to international markets, complex longevity transactions, and innovative reinsurance structures.

You'll play a key role in pricing bulk annuities, longevity swaps, and other retirement risk solutions, working closely with investment teams to optimise capital efficiency. The work is highly commercial, blending deep technical modelling with strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the pricing of longevity swaps, bulk annuities, and other reinsurance transactions.

• Develop and refine actuarial models (RAFM / Prophet / Mo.Net / Tyche / Excel) to ensure accurate, profitable pricing.

• Analyse macroeconomic factors (interest rates, FX, credit spreads) and their impact on pricing.

• Collaborate with investment teams to align asset strategies with liability structures.

• Drive process improvements, enhancing efficiency and risk management.

• Engage with global stakeholders, providing clear, commercial insights on complex transactions.

What's Needed?

• Nearly/newly qualified actuary (IFoA/SOA).

• Strong technical skills in actuarial modelling (Excel, VBA a plus).

• Experience in longevity pricing, bulk annuities, or pension risk transfer.

• Commercial mindset with an interest in investment and capital optimisation.

• Excellent communication skills - able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
