Logistics & Transport Manager, Salary GBP38-42k + excellent benefits package & career opportunities, Based; Gravesend. Working Monday to Friday 37.5hrs (sociable hours)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics & Transport Manager to work for a leading company who specialise in the hire of portable cabins, storage units, modular building and associated products. As a Transport & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day logistics operations for multiple service centres. From compliance and safety to planning, resource management and service delivery, this role plays a crucial part in achieving operational excellence. You will lead a small team of Logistics Coordinators and drivers, while keeping customer satisfaction and efficiency at the forefront of every decision.

Transport & Logistics Manager responsibilities:

  • Lead compliance and safety across your operational service centres, ensuring all transport activities meet legal and company standards.
  • Planning & Resource Allocation: Own the planning and allocation of transport resources, making sure your service centres are prepared and supported to deliver.
  • Work closely with Service Centre Managers and teams to drive continuous improvement and embed best practice.
  • Put the customer at the heart of every decision, ensuring service is timely, professional, and meets expectations.
  • Efficiency & Budget: Drive efficiency across your cluster, pursuing delivery improvements aligned to business budget targets.
  • Team Leadership: Line manage 1-2 Logistics Coordinators and oversee drivers, providing clear direction, development, and performance management.
  • Reporting: Report into the Regional Logistics Manager, providing regular updates and contributing to wider logistics strategy.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a Logistics & Transport Manager or similar role with a solid background in logistics or fleet management, ideally with multi-site responsibility.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing transport teams, with the ability to lead by example and get the best out of people.
  • A good understanding of transport regulations, vehicle safety standards, and legal compliance.
  • A highly organised approach to planning and scheduling, ensuring resources are used efficiently across multiple sites.
  • Experience managing budgets and working towards cost-saving and efficiency targets.
