About The Role

Role Overview

As a result of proAV’s continued global success, we are looking for a logistics Specialist to join our in-house transportation operations team to support our domestic and international projects. Your primary role will be ensuring products and consumables are transported locally and globally in strict compliance with all relevant import and export laws and regulations, in the most cost effective and efficient way.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and liaise with courier and logistic companies
  2. Schedule deliveries on behalf of Project Managers for UK and international projects
  3. Ensuring the option/route confirmed is cost efficient and in line with commercial requirements
  4. Prepare supporting documentation in association with deliveries to include sales invoices and shipping invoices
  5. Tracking shipments and updating relevant teams on progress
  6. Calculating Duty / VAT cost for each consignment
  7. Processing Import/Export declarations
  8. Dealing with general enquiries from importers / exporters concerning all areas, relating to Customs Procedures, Tariff Classifications, Duty Rates and any other documentation requirements
  9. Raise orders and authorise orders up to limits of published authority
  10. Log and monitor courier purchase logs for logistics
  11. Manage any insurance claims in line with delivery shortfall and damage to products
  12. Resolve delivery and collection discrepancies with both suppliers and internal teams
  13. Administration of in house documentation and process
  14. Liaison & coordination with internal & external stakeholders including project managers, stock returns team and finance department, etc.
  15. Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures

Desirable skills

  1. Excellent organisational skills
  2. The ability to deliver under pressure with minimum supervision
  3. To communicate effectively with people at all levels
  4. Proficient with Microsoft office, especially excel
  5. A positive and enthusiastic approach to delivering the role
  6. Experience within a similar role with exposure to international duties, customs, taxes, etc.
  7. Able to work well within a team
  8. Self-Management / Communication / Planning/Organising
  9. Familiar with Microsoft CRM and/or SAP
  10. Ability to manage multiple tasks & progress priorities.
  11. Excellent communications skills via email & telephone.
