Job description

We are partnered with a leading and highly successful manufacturing and engineering organisation in West Lothian to find their next Logistics Quality Coordinator!

If you're ready to be a key player in optimising logistics operations, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring all necessary documentation and certifications are in place, this could be the role for you!

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimise road, rail, sea, and air freight with transport providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Oversee and organise diverse transport services to support all operational activities.
  • Collaborate with shipping partners to maximise container and vehicle space, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost savings.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary shipping documentation and certifications with accuracy.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to streamline logistics operations.
  • Work closely with subcontractors and internal teams to maintain smooth, efficient workflows.
  • Assist in reviewing customer inspection documentation to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Help track shipping expenses against the budget and identify cost-effective solutions for transport and logistics needs.
  • Represent the shipping team in key production meetings and cross-functional discussions.

Successful candidate:

  • Previous experience working in a logistics / shipping role within an engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in PC applications and ERP systems.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience working with external agencies and freight providers.
  • Quality audit and export compliance experience are desirable.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels within the organisation.
