Logistics Planner

Job Location: Christchurch, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm - 40 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced Logistics Planner to join a well-known decorative homeware company in Christchurch.

This well-known business supplies not only the general public but major retail chains such as Dunelm, Laura Ashley, and John Lewis.

Working within a small team of 2, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling the safe delivery of customer orders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and coordinating customer orders from receipt to delivery, ensuring they arrive safely and on time.
  2. Using various customer and haulier portals to receive orders and generate delivery labels.
  3. Keeping customers up to date with lead times and delivery costs.
  4. Advising customers of any delays, issues, or stock shortages.
  5. Keeping on top of new orders coming in, ensuring they are given to the warehouse with all the relevant paperwork.
  6. Reviewing current stock levels to plan workloads with the warehouse team.
  7. General administration including keeping the ERP system up to date with progress and communication.

Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience within a logistics planner / coordinator position.
  2. Excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with customers, hauliers, and the warehouse to ensure deliveries are on time.
  3. Strong attention to detail to generate correct paperwork and delivery labels.
  4. Ability to navigate various systems as you will be using various portals and databases.
  5. Good Excel skills (VLOOKUPS / Pivot tables).
  6. Excellent prioritization skills.
