Logistics Operative

We are looking for a Logistics or Warehouse Operative with experience in Shipping and Receiving to join a well-known and well-established employer in the Burgess Hill area. This role would be ideal for someone with warehouse, logistics and/or dangerous goods experience to join a great employer in this permanent position.

Job duties:

1. Identify and verify part numbers and place in correct locations
2. Use a computer/laptop and a hand scanner to manage stock locations and conduct cycle counts
3. Pick and pack orders
4. Print and batch pick tickets
5. Schedule, track and monitor inbound and outbound shipments
6. Complete export documentation and shipping manifests, including dangerous goods notices
7. Arrange for cost-efficient logistics
8. Load and off-load material to/from delivery vehicles
9. Sort and reconcile parts and enter information into ERP system
10. Lift and carry items weighing up to 35 lbs using available safety tools

Skills & experience required:

1. Previous warehouse, shipping or logistics experience is essential
2. Computer literate and able to use hand-held technology is essential
3. Able to move items in excess of 35 lbs using safety tools
4. Dangerous goods shipping certification (IATA, ADR and IMDG) would be ideal but not essential

Hours and company benefits:

1. The role offers equivalent to national minimum wage with a higher starting salary for those with Dangerous Goods certification
2. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5 pm (overtime available)
