Logistics Operative

Holt Engineering are currently working with a technical manufacturing company based in Edinburgh, who are on the lookout for a Logistics Operative.

This is a temporary on-going contract, working Monday to Friday 8:20am-5:05pm with an early finish on Friday.

As a Logistics Operative you will:

1. Organise and maintain inventory records and carry out inventory checks
2. Manage and handle shipping, loading and unloading of products
3. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks
4. Drive vans, trucks, and passenger cars handling warehouse/logistics materials
5. Process received deliveries and distribution efficiently
6. Process production orders and material requests to the factory
7. Develop new procedures to improve processes and reduce cost
8. Ensure that quality, quantity, customer satisfaction and financial commitments are met
9. Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements
10. Partner and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, and customers
11. Manage and develop the logistics team

The key skills required for the Logistics Operative:

1. Previous skills working within a similar stores/logistics environment
2. Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory and distribution
3. Previous SAP knowledge an advantage
4. Confident using Windows-based PC programmes
5. Excellent attention to detail
6. Work as part of a team
7. Good time keeping
8. Must be flexible
9. Show initiative

This role is paying £12.30 - £14.50 Per Hour (Depending on Experience).
