Job Title: Logistics Operations Manager
Salary: £55,500 - £68,000 depending on experience

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Contract: Full time & permanent

The Opportunity:
As a Logistics Operations Manager, you provide guidance and direction to a team of experienced Logistics Section Managers to deliver operational performance and continuous improvement around critical KPI’s within a safety-first and quality-always, fast-paced manufacturing logistics environment.

What You Will Do:
As Logistics Operations Manager, your accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Lead a dynamic team of up to 6 direct reports managing 100+ logistics professionals, setting and achieving short-term goals that prioritise employee safety, engagement, team development and operational excellence.
  2. Drive continuous improvement by developing and executing strategic programs that enhance all warehouse functions in the short, medium and long term.
  3. Champion collaboration and values-based leadership to support all facility initiatives, including New Product Introduction programs and Warehouse Management Systems upgrades within a lean environment.
  4. Ensure top-notch process control and transactional discipline to maintain high standards of inventory compliance, process adherence, and governance.

What You Can Demonstrate:

Leadership and Logistics Management:

  1. Guides and mentors others on logistics concepts and leadership behaviours, fostering an inclusive and visionary team environment. Develops and reviews logistics plans, manages processes through improvement and prioritisation, and consults on major logistics operations.
  2. Leads significant projects by planning, estimating, staffing, and organising, while identifying risks and creating contingency plans. Maintains open communication with project teams, sponsors, and clients, ensuring collaboration and support.
  3. Passionate about empowering others to reach their full potential, creates an environment of mentoring, coaching, and creating opportunities for growth. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in fostering talent, shaping careers, and building a positive and dynamic environment that celebrates learning and development.

Warehouse and Inventory Management:

  1. Maintains and improves warehouse operations by promoting teamwork, evaluating cost efficiency, and implementing mechanisation techniques. Coaches on alternative distribution designs and replenishment planning.
  2. Coordinates daily inventory management across locations, devising benchmarks to improve processes, and resolving conflicts collaboratively.

What You May Have:

  1. Experience working in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
  2. SAP transactional experience and in particular a history of successful SAP implementations.
  3. History of cultural change management.
  4. Proven track record of developing people and teams to a high standard.
