Job Description

A brand new role has become available with one of London's most distinguished Whisky specialists to control the movement of casks, spirit and cased goods in accordance with their production and sales plans. Managing cased goods shipments from order processing to delivery with distributors and direct customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Cask Movements – Responsible for cask inventory movements in line with production and sales strategy
  • Bottling – Work with their partners to secure bottling slots when required, and ensure correct quantities of each material arrive
  • Bond / Warehousing – Control and track cased goods stock from bottlers to agreed bonded warehouse location
  • Dispatches – For each customer / distributor PO, check inventory, update system, arrange collection from bonded storage to requested site including all relevant documentation
  • Logistics – Day-to-day management of chosen couriers to ensure all deliveries reach their destination in a timely manner to the end customer’s satisfaction
  • Customer Service – Professionally handle amendments to logistics for distributor and / or customer orders as they arise, to minimise any delays
  • Export – Confirm all overseas shipments have corresponding paperwork necessary to clear local customs / duties for that market
  • Ad Hoc Requests – Be flexible enough to respond to one-off customer requests, e.g. postage of samples or stock for tastings / events
  • Implement Processes – Develop a step-by-step process for the business to use for order processing, goods movement etc as we continue to grow

Key Attributes

  • Experience of managing bottling, processing orders and confirming shipments from order to dispatch, ideally within spirits / whisky sector
  • Knowledge of international shipping documentation and legislation requirements
  • Existing relationships with UK / Export courier companies and how they operate
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and managing time effectively
  • Highly organised and able to work on several different projects at any one time
  • Familiar with SWA regulations across different geographies
  • Attention to detail, and positive attitude to finding swift resolutions to any issues
  • Strong IT literacy on Microsoft Office packages
