Logistics Manager

The Shore Group are looking for an experienced Logistics Site Manager for a new ongoing logistics project in Hemel Hempstead. Please note the site is not easily accessible by public transport and having your own transport will be preferable.

Job Description:

1. Working closely and reporting directly to the client
2. Daily co-ordination and management of site labour
3. Ensuring all site labour are adhering to the Logistics Plan
4. Ensuring all site labour have read, understood the Method Statements and are working safely with the correct PPE (briefing of RAMS)
5. Ensuring all additional labour are inducted and wearing the correct PPE
6. Monitor performance of the site labour team
7. Report any First Aid, Near Misses or safety breaches to the client immediately
8. Ensure that all holiday and illness cover is in place in a timely manner
9. Undertaking the weekly Site Safety Report and closing all Logistic items out from others
10. Daily Diaries are completed and collated correctly
11. Weekly allocation work sheets for all labour teams
12. Maintaining the site and ensuring it is kept as clean as possible, including signage, pedestrian routes, stair core closures and logistics plans
13. Waste management along with housekeeping for all areas including progress photo’s for issuing of ‘clear up notices’
14. Weekly Logistics Meetings
15. Management of all plant and equipment with updated inspections
16. Notice boards are kept up to date along with fire points
17. Ordering; monitoring of all site consumables along with daily welfare checks
18. Manage all storage areas including unloading and lay-down
19. Managing deliveries providing daily delivery sheets and closing all schedules out to allow monthly reports to be run
20. Ensuring Health and Safety Standards are kept in line with WEL policies and procedures

Person Specification:

1. Take ownership of issues
2. Level headed with ability to display professional demeanour in high pressure environment
3. Excellent communication skills, including a good standard of written English
4. Excellent time keeping and flexibility for ‘hand over’ periods
5. Confident in reporting status of delivery and site issues to Senior Management
6. Able to work within a team; lead and incentivise the site based labour team
7. Adaptable, motivated and uses own initiative
8. Knowledge of Microsoft office packages including word, outlook and excel
9. Highly organised

Minimum Requirements:

1. CSCS Card
2. SMSTS
3. First Aid
4. At least 3 years’ site experience
5. Good understanding of Fire Marshal, Traffic Control, Plant & Equipment, i.e. Hoists etc
