Logistics Driver - Manchester

Butternut Box
Manchester
Job description

We are on the lookout for a hard-working and efficient logistics driver for the Manchester region, with good team working skills and attention to detail. One of our key growth channels is Events; we attend hundreds every year. As the business grows and we attend events on a much larger scale, there is now the need to build out a fleet of drivers to support in the placement of our Butternut Box and Marro setups up and down the country in our core regions: London, Manchester, Ireland, and Scotland. In this role, you will work closely with our fast-paced Events Team, reporting to our Logistics Manager.

As a Logistics Driver, you will become an integral part of our department, ensuring that the business is set up for success at every event we attend by looking our best. This is a practical job, with a lot of time spent driving to each event ensuring our setups are delivered on time, in full, and on brand to maximize our sales potential. We want someone who is dedicated and determined with an eye for detail to make our stands look excellent and ensure that equipment is well looked after, with incredible communication.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Setting up our gazebo(s), pop-up shops, or shell schemes to the highest standard on a weekly basis during our busy months.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of our equipment and stands at each event.
  • Taking responsibility for the care of our equipment, from handling stock at the storage unit to placing it at each setup.
  • Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator for approval of each setup and breakdown you are responsible for.
  • Building relationships with event organizers as the in-field face of Butternut Box and Marro.
  • Completing training in order to understand each setup and complete to the best of your ability.
  • Communicating any logistics issues to the Senior Logistics Driver (John) and the Logistics Coordinator; e.g. damages, unforeseen issues at an event, late arrivals.
  • Regular visits to the local storage unit and offices for equipment checks and collection/drop off.
  • Keeping the storage unit clean and tidy at all times.
  • Fixing equipment like gazebos and roller banners when broken.

In this role, you can expect:

  • Weekend work with a variety of hours (must be adaptable and flexible).
  • 1-4 days in the field setting up and breaking down events, with the busiest being Sunday afternoon/evening.

A bit about you:

  • Full driving license with no more than 3 points.
  • A van to fit multiple setups and breakdowns at once.
  • Highly organized with great time management.
  • Efficient in the use of Google Sheets.
  • Reliable.
  • Able to take great care of equipment.
  • Takes initiative.

A bit about what we offer:

  • £20/hr plus £0.50/mile (route to each event carefully planned with the assistance of the events team).
  • Incentives & bonuses for top tier stands.

We're ready for the ongoing work that goes into building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best work of your career.
  • We are not looking for external agency support with this role.
