Job description

Groomfield Recruitment is recruiting for our client in the Birmingham Business Park.
You must have your own transport for this position.
Purpose of this job role: As a logistics co-ordinator, you will be liaising with drivers to ensure their route is planned and on time for the customer, as well as speaking with customers to handle any queries.
Responsibilities:

  1. High volume calling to ensure a smooth logistics process
  2. Book and instruct drivers throughout the day
  3. Be aware of clients' requirements when allocating drivers
  4. Be aware of individual drivers' skills and abilities
  5. Search for extra drivers who are available
  6. Co-ordinate breakdowns
  7. Liaise with recruitment to ensure driver coverage is at optimum levels and to discuss recruitment requirements
  8. Inform customer care of any problems or delays
  9. Ensure Customer Care department is informed of any problems, delays, or failures
  10. Liaise with the administration department to resolve driver paperwork queries
  11. Provide out of hours emergency cover on a rota basis
  12. Hold meetings with drivers on a regular basis
  13. Deal with complaints from drivers
  14. Ensure all work on the system is planned and allocated
  15. Such other duties as may reasonably be requested
Salary: £12.51 per hour
Hours: 8:00am - 5:30pm - Monday - Friday
This is a great opportunity to work for a growing business in a busy and friendly environment. This will initially be a temporary position; however, it does have the potential to become permanent.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract [covering long-term sickness]
To be successful for this role: You will need to have previous office experience and be comfortable speaking on the telephone. This is an extremely fast-paced working environment.
