Job description

My client is a leading logistics solutions provider based in the UK. They have a network of 20 locations and they're looking for a Logistics Automation Manager to create and implement an Automation strategy across the network.

As the Logistics Automation Manager you will work alongside the Logistics Engineering and Project Management functions to continually develop and enhance the company's technical capabilities so that they can provide logistics solutions that are innovative and efficient.

Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of creating and rolling out the Logistics Automation strategy.
  • Lead a talented team of Automation experts to boost their tech skills across the board.
  • Spot the latest trends and business opportunities that can shake things up and improve current best practices.
  • Help design new business solutions that are top-notch, using the latest in automation and digital tech.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Engineering or PM teams to improve and maintain high standards through automation and digital tools, ensuring our solutions are cutting-edge and deliver real value to customers and employees alike.
  • Advise on whether to build or buy new solutions, using careful analysis of key factors and creating business cases that highlight the benefits.
  • Foster strong partnerships with software developers and automation experts for mutual success.

Qualifications:

  • Highly experienced logistics professional with an extensive background in distribution centre automation.
  • Proven experience of delivering significant implementation programmes through automation.
  • Strong relationships with software developers and automation partners.
  • Strong experience in delivering best in class automation solutions such as: AMR, AGV's, Co-Bots, Robotics, ASRS and packaging solutions.
  • Strong experience of working with Industry 4.0 Digital technologies.
  • Experience of LEAN methodologies.
  • PRINCE2 or similar project management certification would be advantageous.
  • Wide ranging experience of implementing various Automation solutions and concepts.

Salary: £70,000 - £85,000

Car/Allowance and Bonus included.

This is a National role and there will be an expectation to travel to relevant sites.
