Things we’d love to tell you about our Taw Valley site

  • Our Taw Valley Creamery was established in 1974 and it has been a significant site for cheese production in the UK, and it has undergone various developments and expansions over the years to improve its capacity and capabilities in cheese making.
  • We process approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily; producing over 100t of award winning cheeses each day, such as BOB, Castello Tickler, alongside whey powder.
  • Our Taw Valley site is receiving £180 Million investment to create a state of the art cheese & mozzarella production facility, the 2nd largest single investment in Arla Foods UK.

About The Job

We are looking to recruit a Logistics Assistant to work at our Taw Valley Creamery in Devon, working Monday to Friday day shifts. You will be part of a small Logistics team, collaborating with other functions to meet challenging team and personal goals.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensures quality in warehousing processes, completes accurate SAP administration, and manages the MHE fleet to ensure full working order and availability.
  • Digital Transformation: Acts as the digital and data champion for the department, embracing a digital transformation mindset and working with data to drive decision-making.
  • Safety and Compliance: Completes operational risk assessments, standard operating procedures, and contributes to maintaining a safe working environment by raising near misses and safety observations.
  • Team Collaboration: Supports the dispatch team, works as an integral member of the team, shares information and workload, and remains flexible with daily tasks.
  • Communication and Reporting: Delivers departmental operational KPI reports, contributes to the execution of local business plans, and participates in daily department meetings.

Who are you?

  • Experience in a similar position preferred, although full training will be given.
  • A motivated team player, who can work on their own initiative and knows about supply chain processes and sticking to health and safety rules.
  • Previous forklift experience would be preferred, although novice or refresher training will be booked for the successful candidate.
  • Proficient IT skills required – Familiarity with MDE / SAP / Microsoft Office package.
  • Previous experience of working in a warehousing or cold store environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
