JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you an experienced Independent Prescribing Pharmacist seeking a rewarding locum opportunity in Manchester? We're currently working with a GP surgery that's looking for a skilled professional to join their team on a long-term basis.

Job Title: Prescribing Pharmacist
Location: Manchester, on site.
Duration: Ongoing contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Carrying out patient-facing clinical assessments
  2. Formulating individualised treatment plans
  3. Prescribing medication independently in line with NHS and practice protocols
  4. Delivering structured medication reviews
  5. Supporting patients with chronic conditions
  6. Advising on medicines management and cost-effective prescribing
  7. Working collaboratively with the wider primary care team
  8. Keeping thorough and up-to-date patient documentation

Requirements & Qualifications:

  1. A valid GPhC registration
  2. Independent Prescriber qualification (essential)
  3. Previous experience within a GP practice or primary care setting
  4. Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills
  5. Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  6. A strong commitment to patient-centred care

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:30 (37.5 hours weekly). The position is based on-site in Manchester and is expected to be ongoing, with potential for long-term extension based on service requirements.
