Job Title: Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 6
Location: South West England
Duration: 3-month rolling contract with review for extension
Schedule: Monday - Sunday, 37.5 hours p/w (24/7 rota)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £25 - £26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You'll Be Doing:

Join our team as a Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist and contribute to providing excellent diagnostic services. In this role, you will:

1. Conduct a variety of haematology and transfusion laboratory tests
2. Assist in the preparation and analysis of blood samples for diagnostic purposes
3. Perform blood group testing, crossmatch, and other transfusion-related tests
4. Maintain high standards of laboratory procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulations
5. Support the development and implementation of quality control measures
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient care

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
2. IBMS Accredited Degree
3. At least 1 - 2 years of experience in a Haematology laboratory, preferably with transfusion experience
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. A commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient laboratory services
6. Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role requires availability from Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week, across a 24/7 rota. The contract is for 3 months with a rolling renewal, subject to performance and service needs.
