Position: Locum Education Lawyer

Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority

Rate: Flexible DOE

Duration: 3-6 months initial assignment pending further extension

Working hours: Full time, predominantly remote working with the exception of attending court/office when required

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Education Law, some experience in Adult Social Care Law and previous experience working within the Public Sector.

Our client has two vacancies to start at the beginning and the end of November so should your current assignment be coming to an end or if you have a longer notice period, this role would be suitable for you.

Duties/Responsibilities may include:

• Provide a full spectrum of advice and guidance on Education Law and additional legal areas including Adult Social Care
• Maintain an awareness of all relevant legislation, policy, and regulations, and to advise on implications of changing legislation, case law and codes of practice
• Deliver legal advice and support to the Local Authority on issues such as school admissions, admission appeals, school exclusions and exclusion reviews
• Experience in drafting and submitted various legal documents for case management
