We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team of friendly, supportive urology consultants. The successful candidate will join an established comprehensive urology service. Nottingham Urology Centre has delivered a high volume robotic prostatectomy service since 2014.
This is an additional post to join two experienced subspecialist existing consultants (Mr BT Sherwood and Mr TJ Walton) currently providing prostate cancer services. The unit receives referrals from the wider Nottinghamshire area and tertiary referrals from further afield and may require cross-site working patterns with Sherwood Forest Hospitals. As the successful applicant, you will be supported by a team of highly experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Robotic Surgical First Assistants.
You will undertake subspecialist outpatient clinics and have oversight of nurse-led diagnostic elements of the cancer pathways, including local anaesthetic template biopsies (LATP), flexible cystoscopies, and nurse-led follow-up clinics for post-operative and active surveillance patients. You will have an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate training. Robotic surgery will be performed on the dedicated Da VinciTM X robot located within the urology theatre suite; one of three systems in the trust.
You will participate in a weekly programme of departmental educational and clinical governance activities and join a dynamic uro-oncology MDT.
Key elements include weekly operating sessions, outpatient clinics, MDT and participation in the on call.
