Locum Adult Social Care Lawyer

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team has partnered with a Local Authority in the South West area which is seeking to appoint an Adult Social Care Locum to join its team. Please find further information below:

Location: Fully remote working
Duration: 3 months initial
Hours: Part-time - 20 hours
Rate: £50-55ph
IR35: Inside

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting advocacy
  2. Dealing with all Deprivation of Liberty matters
  3. Managing a full caseload and providing advice & support to the legal team with a focus on Court of Protection Matters
  4. Ensuring the management of Court of Protection proceedings and related requests for legal advice
  5. Investigating factual circumstances of cases and advising on the management of legal proceedings
  6. Representing in formal legal proceedings, attending Court and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
  7. Carrying out case management of complex cases comprising of welfare and financial matters arising from the Care Act 2014
  8. Dealing with applications to the Court of Protection for welfare matters and to the County Court under the Mental Health Act 1983 particularly in respect of nearest relation
