Aviva are looking to bring on board a Lloyds Construction Underwriting Manager to join their team!
A bit about the job:
Aviva Construction is embarking on a long-term strategy to expand its construction business, capitalising on both favourable near-term market trends and conditions and long-term opportunities. The successful candidate will need a proven track record in underwriting both international and UK risks within the Lloyds marketplace. The candidate will possess strong experience and credentials in technical underwriting and pricing of construction risks, as well as a strong reputation in a market-facing role: for effective management, communication, and negotiation with brokers and clients. They will also support the development of strategy with the Head of Construction for expanding the Lloyds proposition.
The candidate will also have experience and be comfortable navigating a large insurance organization, including effective interaction with Risk Engineers, Claims Specialists, Client and Broker Relationship Managers, Operations and Administration, and Finance.
As an Underwriting Manager, you will be involved in market engagement, including interaction with producers, clients, and Aviva’s peers in the marketplace. This includes both the London Market and international markets. You will have a role in driving a disciplined growth strategy, including portfolio steering and development of business acquisition channels. You will also exercise key responsibilities for the training and development of junior underwriting staff, and to deliver thought leadership in the marketplace.
Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role is based in London .
