Litigation Paralegal

Salary – Circa £30,000

12-month FTC

Are you a detail-oriented legal professional with litigation experience?

This is a great opportunity for an experienced paralegal, law graduate, Legal Executive, solicitor, or barrister looking to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced in-house legal team. If you have a strong understanding of the claims process and civil procedure rules and are eager to work on a variety of litigation matters, this could be the perfect role for you!

A bit about the job:

You will be joining a committed, collaborative, and supportive team within Aviva’s UK Litigation function, based in Norwich. Our team provides high-quality legal advice across Aviva’s General Insurance (GI), Life, and Health litigation areas.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of small claims and fast-track litigation.
  • Supporting on larger claims and providing advice on complaints with litigation potential.
  • Responding to internal queries, covering pre-action guidance, limitation queries, and settlement terms.
  • Collaborating with legal and commercial colleagues, developing strong relationships and enhancing business understanding.
  • Mentoring junior team members by sharing knowledge and experience in managing claims.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience as a paralegal, law graduate, Legal Executive, solicitor, or barrister entitled to practice in the UK.
  • Litigation experience with a strong knowledge of the claims process and civil procedure rules.
  • Ability to manage relationships with internal stakeholders, third parties, and external advisers.
  • Knowledge or experience in the financial services sector, particularly insurance, is beneficial.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent problem-solving abilities.
