What you'll do

As a Linen Porter in the Housekeeping team at The Dorchester, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of every guest. Working behind the scenes, you’ll help maintain our commitment to five-star cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail. In this role, you will:

  1. Deliver and collect linen efficiently across guest bedrooms and service areas, ensuring the team has what they need to provide seamless guest experiences.
  2. Maintain an organised system for stocking clean linen and removing used bed linen, supporting the daily operations of our housekeeping service.
  3. Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of public areas, stepping in when needed to maintain our exceptional standards of presentation throughout the hotel.
  4. Assist with guest requests that relate to linen or public area standards, ensuring each interaction is handled with care and professionalism.
  5. Show flexibility and reliability, responding to the needs of the day and working in partnership with Room Attendants and Supervisors to keep operations running smoothly.
  6. Take pride in your contribution to guest comfort, understanding that the quality of linens and cleanliness of spaces sets the tone for a guest’s overall experience.

What you'll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  1. A positive, hands-on attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
  2. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  3. A willingness to be flexible, reliable, and proactive in your approach to supporting housekeeping operations.
  4. Physically fit to meet the demands of a fast-moving hotel environment, including lifting and moving linen supplies.
  5. Fluent in English, with the confidence to interact with colleagues and respond to guest needs clearly and courteously.

Preferred Skills

  1. Previous experience in a luxury hotel housekeeping team or similar guest-facing environment.
  2. An eye for detail and pride in creating a polished, well-presented environment.
  3. Familiarity with handling linen inventory and working to structured shift patterns.
