What you'll do

As a Linen Porter in the Housekeeping team at The Dorchester, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of every guest. Working behind the scenes, you’ll help maintain our commitment to five-star cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver and collect linen efficiently across guest bedrooms and service areas, ensuring the team has what they need to provide seamless guest experiences.
  • Maintain an organised system for stocking clean linen and removing used bed linen, supporting the daily operations of our housekeeping service.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of public areas, stepping in when needed to maintain our exceptional standards of presentation throughout the hotel.
  • Assist with guest requests that relate to linen or public area standards, ensuring each interaction is handled with care and professionalism.
  • Show flexibility and reliability, responding to the needs of the day and working in partnership with Room Attendants and Supervisors to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Take pride in your contribution to guest comfort, understanding that the quality of linens and cleanliness of spaces sets the tone for a guest’s overall experience.

What you'll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A positive, hands-on attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to be flexible, reliable, and proactive in your approach to supporting housekeeping operations.
  • Physically fit to meet the demands of a fast-moving hotel environment, including lifting and moving linen supplies.
  • Fluent in English, with the confidence to interact with colleagues and respond to guest needs clearly and courteously.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel housekeeping team or similar guest-facing environment.
  • An eye for detail and pride in creating a polished, well-presented environment.
  • Familiarity with handling linen inventory and working to structured shift patterns.
