Job description

Job Title: Linen Porter

Location: Colney Ln, Norwich NR4 7UY

Remuneration: 12.21 paid weekly

Contract Details: Temporary, 3 months possibility of extension or to go permanent

Working Pattern: Full time - 4 on 4 off, Weekdays 07:00 to 18:30, Weekends 07:00 to 17:30

Background Checking: Basic DBS required

Responsibilities:

  • Manoeuvring loads in tight spaces
  • Pushing bins, cages, wheeled trolleys, and managing linen deliveries.
  • Lifting bags following manual handling training protocols.
  • Maintaining awareness while handling various hazardous materials.
  • Working within the hospital building and grounds, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Assisting in the loading bay and adapting to adverse weather conditions.
  • Managing exposure to soiled linen while providing essential support to our healthcare team.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A Basic DBS check (essential).
  • A proactive approach to safety and awareness of hazardous materials.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • This role involves working within the hospital environment, including exposure to adverse weather conditions in the loading bay.
  • Please note that there is no onsite parking available unless you're using a motorbike or bicycle. However, paid parking with park and ride options are available for your convenience.
