Lifeline Services have been providing award-winning support to the residents of Darlington since 1989. The equipment we provide gives users and their families the reassurance needed to enable them to live safely and independently in their own homes.

The response team is based at our Town Hall office. The integral duties of a Lifeline Response Officer include the demonstration, installation, and monitoring of various technology, as well as responding to emergency calls as necessary. Our officers must be able to think dynamically in a fast-paced and busy environment.

You will be confident in the use of databases and Microsoft Office packages, with a good understanding of GDPR to meet the administrative duties of the role. You need to be approachable with a 'can do' attitude and possess valuable skills such as being sociable, flexible, and able to communicate effectively and compassionately with our clients. A strong background in a customer-facing role, particularly with experience of older and more vulnerable people, is an advantage.

This role is full time (37 hrs per week) working:

  • Monday – Thursday 08:30 - 17:00
  • Friday 08:30 - 16:30
  • Also 07:30 - 15:45 on a rota basis.

The rewards for working at Darlington Borough Council go beyond the salary you will receive; we have numerous additional benefits such as:

  • 32 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays, with the option to purchase additional Annual Leave (pro-rata for part-time working)
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme with the option to make Additional Voluntary Contributions
  • Flexible working
  • Generous Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Leave schemes
  • Staff equality forums
