Introduction

My client, a leading organisation in the London Office Project Management sector, is seeking a proactive and driven individual to join their dynamic Project Management team. The team, composed of 20 professionals, including Directors, Associate Directors, Senior Project Managers, and apprentices, is known for its friendly and collaborative culture. My client is specifically looking to expand its specialised sub-team that focuses on landlord and tenant Science instructions within the life science sector, building on a successful track record over the past five years.


Role Overview

As a Life Science Project Manager, you will be an integral part of my client’s wider London Project Management team, specialising in technical Life Science projects. These projects range from office to laboratory conversions for small to medium-sized tenants, as well as landlord speculative developments.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Project Lifecycle Involvement:
    Actively engage in all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring the successful delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects.
    Assume a leadership role in project delivery, supported by the experienced team and mentorship from the head of the London life science division.
  2. Client Engagement and Service:
    Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with clients, providing tailored project solutions that meet their needs.
    Attend industry events to enhance my client's profile and build your personal network.
  3. Team Collaboration and Support:
    Collaborate with colleagues in delivering various projects, stepping in to support during peak periods or absences.
    Contribute to team meetings, taking responsibility for actions that align with my client's business goals.
  4. Technical Expertise and Visions:
    Prepare proposals and participate in pitches to both existing and new clients.
    Provide strategic advice on project planning, including risk management and procurement routes.
  5. Documentation and Administration:
    Produce project documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, and communication logs.
    Oversee contract administration, ideally with JCT and NEC experience.
  6. Program Creation and Management:
    Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  7. Core Values:
    Show a genuine interest in the life sciences sector, with a commitment to learning and development.
    Demonstrate driven and proactive attitudes towards building long-term relationships within my client's business and the wider industry.

Qualifications and Skills


  1. Vocational degree qualification (MRICS qualified or equivalent).
  2. Relevant experience in project management, particularly within the life sciences sector (though specific Science experience is not strictly required).
  3. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  4. Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, showing integrity and ethical decision-making.
