Life Safety Senior Engineer (Fire Protection)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Luton

Hours: 7.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £55,000 per annum

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Life Safety Senior Engineer to oversee the planning and execution of life safety compliance and operational requirements. This role ensures effective maintenance, regulatory compliance, and optimal asset performance in a cost-effective and timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, project management skills, and experience in fire and life safety regulations.

Example of Responsibilities:

  1. Managing the strategic performance and maintenance of life safety assets within budget.
  2. Ensuring statutory compliance with fire detection, alarms, hydrants, suppression systems, smoke control, sprinklers, and passive fire protection.
  3. Lead internal project workstreams, manage contracts, and oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  4. Maintain compliance records, conduct audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure adherence to fire and life safety regulations.
  5. Assess facility and asset conditions, identify risks, and propose long-term maintenance and improvement plans.
  6. Utilise systems like TABS FM (CMMS) and Power BI for compliance tracking, reporting, and process improvements.
  7. Act as a key point of contact for life safety incidents, coordinate responses, and develop contingency plans.

Skills Required:

  1. Proven background in fire safety and compliance.
  2. Strong organisation and project management skills.
  3. Health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH is desirable however not essential.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
