Job description

Interim Licensing and Environmental Health Agency Officer

  3. This is a temporary role, initially 3 months. Please do not apply if you are seeking a permanent position.

Key Requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of licensing regulations and environmental health laws.
  2. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Relevant experience in licensing, environmental health, or a related field (preferred).
  5. A passion for making a positive impact in the community.

We are seeking candidates to carry out Massage and Special Treatment Licence inspections, investigate licensing complaints and take enforcement action under relevant licensing legislation in a stepped approach in accordance with the RSP Enforcement policy. This may also include Street Trading, Licensing Act 2003 Alcohol Licences and Pavement licences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and environmental health standards.
  2. Investigate complaints, incidents, and reports related to public health and environmental concerns.
  3. Collaborate with businesses, communities, and other authorities to enforce health and safety policies.
  4. Provide expert advice on licensing procedures and environmental health laws.
  5. Develop and implement strategies to improve community well-being and environmental conditions.
  6. Serve summonses and give evidence on behalf of an Authority in Magistrates Court and Crown Court as necessary.
