The role
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Helping to drive the delivery of the flying activities at RAF Wittering or any of the 13 other LAFT sites.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible, alongside a team of mechanical and avionic LAE’s for the generation and release to service of serviceable and safe aircraft in accordance with civilian legislation/regulation and in line with Babcock company approvals.
  • Ensure aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance and all other engineering related activities and services are provided as required to always meet and exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs.
  • Coordinate all CAA part 145 paperwork.

This role is full time and based onsite at our RAF Wittering site. The shift pattern for this role is 40 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern or as required by the business given suitable notice. Shift patterns and timings may change if deployed to match the needs of the site. Weekends included.

Essential experience:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills in an engineering environment
  • Proven leadership ability to lead a team of technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities.
  • Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required.

Qualifications:

  • EASA Part 66, B1.2 licence

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
