Library Assistant

GLL is looking for a Library Assistant to work 18 hours per week at Southfields Library. Southfields Library is a busy library, giving access to a wide variety of collections and resources including books, periodicals, DVD loans, and public computers/internet access. This is an exciting time to join our team as we improve and promote the library’s services to the local community, whether it’s our valued existing users or widening the offering to a new group of customers.

What you will do

1. Work as part of the team to ensure the smooth operation of the library.
2. Provide a warm welcome and genuine service to all customers, providing guidance and support on how to get the optimum results from their visit.
3. Fully participate in and engage in any training provided.
4. Support library activities.
5. Assist customers with IT.

Work Pattern

Work pattern will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am-2pm and alternate Saturdays from 8.30am-2.30pm.

What you need:

1. Experience working within libraries or a customer-facing role.
2. Evidence of making a difference to customers.
3. Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
4. A real focus on customer service.
5. Passion and personality.
6. Be a great team player.
