Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Three UK plants have a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint, and final assembly.
MINI Plant Oxford - Level 3 Payroll– 18 month apprenticeship (August 2025)
Our HR Services team are responsible for delivering Payroll, Benefits and HR Administration to over 7500 employees across the UK. We deliver Payroll fully in-house using SAP. We cover the full remit of Payroll processing from inputting sick notes, loading new starters, updating tax codes to managing annual benefit renewals and producing P11Ds. You will also work with a wide variety of colleagues including IT, Tax and legal as well as answering employee queries relating to pay.
Your Training – The BMW Group offers a level 3 apprenticeship commencing in August 2025. The 18-month programme is designed to enable you to gain experience as a payroll administrator within the HR function, in an exciting environment that is constantly developing.
As an apprentice at BMW, you will support with the monthly payroll processing. Your on-the-job training will begin with monthly inputs, progress onto running a payroll and completing relevant control checks. You will also support in many other administrative duties such as answering employee queries via email and telephone.
Whilst developing on-the-job knowledge, you will also undertake fully funded online study toward the attainment of a L3 Payroll Administrator.

These include team working, the ability to work without close supervision, quality focus, good communication skills, enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to take on responsibility and show accountability for your work.

The next stage is a Video Interview. You can complete this at any time of day during your five-day invitation window and you will be recorded answering a set of questions. The first question is just for you to get used to recording yourself and is not assessed. Following completion of the Video Interview, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited to a face-to-face Assessment Centre with BMW Group. Provisionally, the Assessment Centre is due to take place week commencing 14th April 2025.
