Job description

Location: Whitehaven
Contract: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (includes 1 in 4 Saturdays with the following Monday off in lieu)
Salary: Competitive + commission scheme

We’re working with a well-regarded property business in Cumbria looking for a Lettings Negotiator for a fixed term maternity cover position. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who thrives in a busy and varied environment.

This is a fast-paced, front-facing role where you’ll handle everything from enquiries and viewings to preparing tenancy paperwork and ensuring full compliance. You’ll work closely with the wider property and lettings team, providing a smooth and professional experience for both tenants and landlords.

This role would suit someone with previous lettings or estate agency experience, or someone from a strong customer service background looking to develop their career in property. A full UK driving licence is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage front desk and reception duties, offering a high standard of service
  2. Respond to lettings enquiries and conduct property viewings
  3. Prepare rental appraisals, tenancy agreements and referencing checks
  4. Coordinate move-ins and tenancy commencements
  5. Maintain compliance with legislation, policies and industry standards
  6. Build strong working relationships with tenants, landlords and stakeholders
  7. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth processes
  8. Generate new business and contribute to team income targets

What we’re looking for:

  1. Experience in lettings or estate agency is desirable
  2. Strong communication and customer service skills
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
  4. High levels of organisation and attention to detail
  5. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  6. Good IT skills relevant to lettings and property admin
  7. Full UK driving licence
