Job description

Description

Are you looking to transition from the Armed Forces into a rewarding civilian career? Leonardo is proud to welcome veterans, reservists, and service leavers to apply for the role of Field Service Operative. Your discipline, problem-solving, and ability to work in high-pressure environments could make you a perfect fit. The role will perform discreet maintenance tasks on customer aircraft(s). In some cases this could extend to fulfilling a role within a maintenance operation, supporting a prolonged period of aircraft flying to support customer pilot training or development trials, or as part of the initial stand-up of the customer flying operation post aircraft acceptance.

What You'll Do:

As a Field Service Operative, you'll play a vital role in maintaining customer aircraft, with responsibilities including:

  1. Preparation and Deployment: Assist in assessing the needs of Contractor Working Party (CWP) deployments, ensuring the right team is in place for success.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, customers, and suppliers to develop and progress CWP plans.
  3. Monitoring and Communication: Keep projects on track by monitoring work against schedules and budgets, while maintaining open lines of communication with key stakeholders.
  4. Inspection Approval: Hold and maintain company inspection approvals for both in-production and out-of-production aircraft.
  5. Responsive Support: Be ready to respond to urgent work requirements, both in the UK and overseas, for extended periods.
  6. Health and Fitness: Undergo regular medical assessments to ensure you're fit for global travel.

As the role requires a high volume of overseas travel, the company will ensure that all flights, hotels, and car hire are covered by contract funding.

There is a career development path to progress to the Field Service Representative role.

What we need from you:

  • An Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship or Military Equivalent.
  • Engineering qualification (Minimum HNC/BTEC or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an aviation type environment with a good sound knowledge of aviation Engineering / Maintenance standards and practices.
  • Ideally have leadership capabilities and communication skills.

Security Clearance: You must be eligible for full security clearance.
