Job description

Our client, a top 50 firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join their Commercial Agriculture and Estates team based at their Cambridge office.

The position is full time and office based.

This friendly team is looking for someone with excellent secretarial skills to support with a range of tasks in a timely and efficient way. You will be responsible for providing an efficient secretarial and administrative service to fee earners and teams within the firm.

You will be a team player with a strong work ethic and have the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients alike. You should also have a good level of IT literacy and be confident in learning about and using systems and software.

Some of your duties will include:
  1. Performing a variety of administrative duties;
  2. Communicating with fee earners and clients;
  3. Drafting and completing letters, emails and legal documents;
  4. Transcribing and proof reading letters, emails and other correspondence;
  5. Document creation including typing of manuscript amendments to documents and producing new versions of documents;
  6. Accurate typing from dictation;
  7. Answering the telephone professionally;
  8. Making appointments on behalf of the fee earners when requested and servicing meetings including booking conference rooms and provision of refreshments for the fee earners and clients;
  9. Dealing with administrative tasks, including scanning, printing, storage of deeds and photocopying;
  10. Preparing legal documents for signing;
Requirements:
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  2. Excellent organisational, time management and problem solving skills;
  3. Strong written and oral communication skills;
  4. High computer literacy with the ability to support others;
  5. Ability to deal with legal documents including occasional unfamiliar tasks;
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  7. Ideally previous experience as a legal Secretary;
