Legal Secretary – 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Tunbridge Wells office (2 days working from home)
£27,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)

A leading law firm in Tunbridge Wells are looking to recruit two legal secretaries on a 12-month fixed term contract. The roles are based in their Corporate and Private Wealth teams, although no experience in these specific areas is required, so it’s an ideal role for someone wanting to transition from another area of law.

Main Responsibilities

  • Diary Management – you will be responsible for arranging meetings, travel appointments, lunch meetings and calls for the fee earners.
  • Project Management – work with the fee earner to determine what work needs to be completed and help them facilitate this. This will include liaising with other departments to request work be completed and also ensuring this is done in a timely manner.
  • Meeting Preparation – ensuring that the fee earner has all required documents prior to a meeting, this may include locating documents and making some document amendments.
  • Supporting with BD activities – assisting fee earners with the preparation of pitches and presentations.
  • Building Relationships – you will be responsible for liaising with clients and internal contacts to provide updates, passing across messages/information and ensuring everyone is kept updated.

About you

  • You must have previous experience as a secretary – ideally within a legal environment but I will also consider candidates from professional services firms.
  • You will be proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel and other packages that may be relevant to the role.
  • You must possess a high level of organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • You will be positive and professional, work well under pressure and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You need to have a passion for client care and dedicated to providing the best possible service for clients.
