Our electric bikes and scooters have powered 700+ million rides in 250+ cities on 5 continents, replacing an estimated 150+ million car trips. Named a Time 100 Most Influential Company and Fast Company Brand That Matters, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally.

Lime are looking for an outstanding lawyer to join our fast-growing EMEA legal team as Legal Counsel for the United Kingdom and Ireland with possibility to extend support to the Middle East.

Lime is at an exciting inflection point as we scale rapidly toward our next stage of growth. As we grow our category leadership, we are transitioning to a more structured, high-performing organization and need someone who thrives in this evolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in counseling on all legal topics concerning the company, ranging from administrative and public law issues, litigation, including managing personal injury claims, to familiarity with data sharing & commercial contracts. You will have 4-7 years of experience working on these types of matters either in an in-house or private practice environment. You will have a pragmatic, solution-focused, cost-efficient approach. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact as we build the foundation for long-term success.

We are a remote first company; however, it is preferred that the individual hired for this role be located in London and be able to commute periodically to our office space near Bank Station or our Lime Warehouse in Bermondsey, London.

What you’ll do:

  • This role will advise on a full range of legal topics concerning the UK and Irish markets, including regulatory compliance, litigation, personal injury law, commercial law, consumer law, insurance and civil liability, administrative and public law, and employment law;
  • Work effectively across business units and corporate functions to resolve complex business and risk management issues;
  • You will be the main point of contact for the local day-to-day legal queries relating to operations in United Kingdom and Ireland supporting the General Manager, Operations team and the Government Relations team in particular;
  • Lead outside counsel relationships as necessary.

About you:

  • Ability to practice law in the UK;
  • 4+ years of relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Experience in working for or advising international businesses on multi-jurisdictional matters and comfortable advising different commercial stakeholders;
  • Experience in commercial litigation, ideally with some experience with personal injury claims;
  • Proven high-performing legal experience;
  • Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills; ability to drive issues to a quick resolution that factors in many non-legal variables, such as brand risk, communications, government relations, tax, insurance, finance, and other business units;
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity;
  • Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to build the processes and systems to prevent them from occurring.
