Job description

JDRoss are working with a client who develop, build and operate utility-scale solar, wind and storage projects in the UK and internationally. Having developed and built more than 700MWp, with over 100 projects currently in their pipeline.

They are currently looking for a legal counsel to come and join their team, the legal team is currently well set up with 7 people already a part of the business.

Culture and trust are a big part for this business and the team. They have weekly coffee walks and a traffic light grading system for the level of work each individual has, so they make sure no one is particularly overwhelmed at one time.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Property Transactions: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating property documents like leases, easements, and site-sharing agreements while liaising with external lawyers and stakeholders.
  • Securing Easements & Leases: Collaborating with grid teams and project managers to find cost-effective solutions for cable routes, substation leases, and wayleaves.
  • Supporting Due Diligence & Funding: Resolving legal issues, negotiating agreements, and ensuring smooth project delivery for funders and buyers.
  • Managing Risk & Compliance: Overseeing GDPR compliance, coordinating training, and assisting in risk management alongside company leaders.
Your experience
  • You’re a qualified solicitor with experience in property law, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure.
  • You’ve successfully drafted and managed complex property agreements.
  • You can confidently engage with internal teams, external lawyers, and key stakeholders.
  • Experience in GDPR, risk management, or compliance is a bonus.
