Legal Counsel is required to join a specialist provider of insurance services, a subsidiary of a well-known Global Reinsurance business.

About the Legal Counsel:

• Develop, negotiate, and review a range of commercial insurance agreements, including insurance distribution agreements, data use agreements, etc.
• Draft and negotiate wordings on insurance products and related documentation.
• Assist with regulatory matters as required.
• Help the business with developing and improving insurance products.
• Provide legal advice on insurance law, excluding claims handling.
• Collaborate with legal teams both internally and internationally across the Group.
• Responsible for training internal business functions to improve understanding of wordings, coverage, and general insurance law matters.

Requirements of the Legal Counsel:

• Legally qualified, preferably in the UK.
• Experience working within UK insurance law, either in-house or in a private practice setting.
• Candidates with experience in SII are highly desirable.
• Agency or Distribution Law experience and/or experience with wordings.
