In this role you will work with talented people throughout the company, in particular as a key advisor to our Product, Research & Insights, Data, Marketing and Information Security teams. You’ll have a broad range of responsibilities providing pragmatic legal guidance that cuts across many areas of law and jurisdictions, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, content regulation, intellectual property, licensing, data security and privacy, and consumer protection. We have minimal hierarchy, and your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact. This role is hybrid, and candidates should be based in London. You will- Review Picsart’s customer-facing products, tools, features, and initiatives to provide practical legal advice and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proactively advise product teams on issues related to management and use of data collected and processed by Picsart services, and organize and drive legal processes that apply privacy by design.
- Collaborate closely with Picsart’s Trust & Safety teams to protect our customers and ensure content posted to our services is lawful, safe and trustworthy.
- Contribute to the continued development, maintenance and improvement of Picsart’s global privacy program including effective policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Draft and manage the implementation of terms of use, internal and external policies, consumer disclosures, and other consumer-facing communication.
- Draft, negotiate, and advise a wide range of commercial agreements including intellectual property licenses, releases, MSAs and SOWs, co-marketing and partnership agreements, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, and many more.
- Advise on and resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.
- Provide practical and creative guidance on a wide range of legal and business requests.
- Keep current on relevant U.S. and international laws and regulations, especially those related to content regulation, artificial intelligence, social media law, privacy and data protection, and consumer protection.
- Collaborate with other legal team members to share ideas, teach and learn from each other, and improve how we work.
- Create training materials and scalable processes.
About you- 4-7+ years of relevant PQE, including both law firm and in-house, preferably including experience with start-ups or high-growth technology companies.
- Experience with US and international law on privacy and data security, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
- Fluency translating legal advice into actionable and pragmatic guidance for business teams.
- Product counseling experience at a technology company and familiarity with generative AI is a plus.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and drafting skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, oral and written, making complex concepts simple.
- Sound and practical business judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with internal business clients.
- Experience with intellectual property licensing.
- Excitement to learn new technologies and areas of law.
