Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driving license and own vehicle.

  • Support the COLP with all aspects of Risk and Compliance.
  • Assist with complaints and claims and organize compliance meetings.
  • Update and monitor the Company's Office Manual and compliance policies.

Legal Compliance Officer - £35k - £50k, can be based in Taunton, Bridgewater or Yeovil. Possibility of Hybrid working (after probationary period)

Job Overview:
Exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to support the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP). Prior Legal experience is essential with a clear understanding of regulatory requirements.

This is a business critical function and requires someone who is confident working on their own initiative and comfortable communicating effectively with people at all levels.

Responsibilities of the Role:
  1. To support/assist the COLP with all aspects of Risk and Compliance.
  2. To play a key role in the compliance of the Company.
  3. To assist with complaints and claims.
  4. Organise Monthly Risk and Compliance meetings and prepare agenda.
  5. Take notes at meetings and circulate.
  6. Produce monthly and Annual Compliance reports and collate any other relevant information.
  7. To support/assist the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
  8. To update and monitor the Company's Office Manual including all compliance policies and procedures.
  9. To act as first point of call for staff compliance queries.
  10. To administer, update and train staff on the Company's compliance platform.
Skills & Experience:
  1. Legal experience.
  2. Confident understanding of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules.
  3. Ability to deal with Issue Resolution.
  4. Engaging Personality that can communicate at all levels.
  5. Have a Pro-active approach.
  6. Happy to work as part of a Team as well as Independently.

As you could be working in different offices it is essential that you have a valid driving license and own your own vehicle.
