Job description

We’re working with a respected law firm in Pocklington who are looking to welcome a Legal Assistant to their team to provide high-quality administrative support and delivering great service to both clients and colleagues.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organised, approachable, and keen to develop their legal career in a supportive and professional environment.

Working alongside experienced Fee Earners, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of legal files, helping to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Some of the key Legal Assistant duties are:

  • Typing documents and correspondence accurately and promptly
  • Managing administrative tasks across legal files
  • Organising paper and digital files in a clear, timely manner
  • Handling post and photocopying to firm standards
  • Opening files and making initial client contact to gather key information
  • Completing SDLT forms and Land Registry applications
  • Preparing financial statements and finance chits for review
You’ll also support client service and compliance by:
  • Handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries professionally
  • Booking appointments and managing team diaries
  • Ensuring confidentiality of all client and firm information
  • Following all internal policies, procedures, and Lexcel standards
  • Providing refreshments during client meetings when required
Teamwork matters too - you’ll also:
  • Provide reception cover when needed
  • Be a friendly and approachable team player
  • Contribute to department meetings
  • Help create a positive, collaborative working culture
This will be working full time Monday to Friday, but we will also consider part-time hours working 3-4 days per week for the right person, with a competitive salary offered depending on experience.
