Job description

Legal Assistant - Private Client

Location: Evesham

Salary: £23k - £25k DOE

Hours: 9:00am - 5:15pm Monday - Friday (office based)

Our successful U.K. established legal client is currently looking for an experienced Legal Assistant/Secretary to work within their Private Client department at their Evesham office.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Dealing with queries raised by clients, solicitors, and other involved parties
  2. Providing client updates and monitoring matter progression
  3. Opening and closing matters on the case management system compliant with the firm's AML and quality standards and SRA regulations
  4. Supervised drafting of basic correspondence, forms, and documents
  5. Submitting/registering forms and legal documents with Probate Registry, Certainty, and HMRC
  6. Responsible for the organisation, safe custody, and release of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probates, and other associated legal documents
  7. Maintaining contact lists and calendars for fee earners
  8. Monitoring deadlines and managing appointments and diaries
  9. Conducting searches and registering Wills with Certainty
  10. Preparing and submitting bills, payments, and receipts, liaising with the finance team
  11. Preparing Estate Accounts on Excel
  12. Handling overflow client telephone calls
  13. Providing reception cover
  14. Preparing and taking the banking and post
  15. General administrative tasks
  16. Other duties as required to ensure the efficient running of the office

Requirements for this role include:
  1. Preferably previous work experience as a legal assistant/secretary
  2. Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
  3. Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  4. Working knowledge of case management software
  5. Proficiency in English
  6. Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  7. Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
  8. Attention to detail
  9. Excellent communication skills
