Job description

Full-Time Legal Assistant required five days per week by a long-established and well-recognised local firm of Solicitors in East Molesey.

Exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain practical experience, those aiming to qualify/develop in the legal field, or for experienced administrators looking for exposure to substantial legal work. Those willing to learn and engage related IT projects will be encouraged and supported in developing their expertise.

The ideal candidate for this position will appreciate and adopt my client's goal of providing their clients with friendly and effective legal services, so effective communication skills are a priority. Attention to detail and ability to learn as you go are also key. You should be able to work independently with team support, and be confident in your abilities to:

  1. Provide a friendly and confident welcome to our clients
  2. Volunteer assistance to support other team members without prompting
  3. Listen carefully and act effectively on written and verbal instructions
  4. Take calls from solicitors, clients and third parties, and produce accurate notes of the same
  5. Arrange, schedule and set-up in-office and video-based client meetings
  6. Create and edit MS Word documents to exacting standards
  7. Demonstrate competence with document production & communications software
  8. Learn and reliably use our in-house Case Management system
  9. Learn, navigate, and help maintain online and paper-based filing & retrieval systems
  10. Take direction for prioritising, organise work efficiently, and working to deadlines
  11. Learn and adhere to in-house financial accounts rules and legal procedures
  12. Develop your understanding of the relevant law and legal services framework
