Job description

Position Type: Full time / Permanent

Aberdein Considine are looking for a Legal Assistant to join their Dyce office. The role will involve covering all aspects of residential conveyancing and providing general assistance to the legal team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Opening Purchase Files on Visual Files/Preparing Quotations/TOB’s/Offers/typing missive letters/completing Money Laundering/importing documents onto case management system
  2. Logging offers on Sale Files, requesting searches and redemption statements, importing documents onto case management system
  3. Opening Discharge Files on Visual Files, preparing Discharge for sending to lender (electronically or in paper format) and registering with Registers of Scotland
  4. Maintain files post settlement i.e. chasing outstanding documents, sending out documents to clients, Lenders and Solicitors and liaising with conveyancers re file issues
  5. Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorneys, registering Powers of Attorney with the Office of Public Guardian, logging Wills in our Deed Store
  6. Registering documentation with Registers of Scotland
  7. Preparing Fee Notes and tracking fees paid
  8. Dealing with legal and title deed enquiries received in the office and submitting offers on behalf of clients
  9. Dealing with clients within office and on the telephone to include arranging appointments for the solicitors in the office
  10. Keeping clients updated on their transaction, scanning relevant file documents onto case management system, sending out Deeds, closing and shredding files
  11. Meet with clients to take relevant ID/witness client signatures on documentation
