About the Post
The posts have been created because of the expansion of the postgraduate (PG) Business courses at the University of Suffolk. Working primarily within our International Business Management (IBM) programme, the post-holder will work with colleagues to deliver our international postgraduate programmes, whilst acting as a dissertation supervisor.
We would be particularly interested in academics with postgraduate experience in modules covering International Business, International Marketing, Change Management, Decision Making, and Managing People Effectively; thus, experience working with or alongside these sectors/areas will be an advantage.
About the Team
The Business subject area is going through a period of rapid growth of our postgraduate programmes and requires additional resource. Although the team is small currently, we expect to see resources grow alongside the growth of several programmes. Collaboration is key to our success with most staff involved in teaching across programmes, working with colleagues in other schools or departments, and engaging with professional practice, knowledge exchange, and research. Our focus is on supporting one another to succeed together, and we will look for the post-holder to demonstrate a commitment to working in this manner.
About You
You will have a background with experience in teaching and developing the postgraduate portfolio. Specialisation in areas such as International Business, International Marketing, Change Management, Decision Making, or Managing People Effectively is highly desirable. Dissertation supervision is also important to this role, along with experience in supervising postgraduate dissertations, guiding students through the research process, and ensuring high academic standards. Experience as a course leader or module leader for postgraduate programs would be advantageous, showcasing the ability to coordinate courses, develop curriculum, and manage program logistics.
Skills, Attributes and Responsibilities
Overall, the successful candidate would be a proactive academic with general expertise in areas around international business. They should have course leader and teaching experience while possessing a collaborative approach that aligns with the University of Suffolk's growth-oriented and supportive ethos.
